Webinar Description

Body Weight Support Treadmill Training In A Child With CP and Visual Impairment Accumulation of perceptual-motor experiences through early exploration of the environment during childhood is key to building and modeling abilities across developmental domains as well as the lifespan. Children with cerebral palsy (CP) have atypical movement patterns that restrict opportunities for independent exploration and learning in their world. Children who are vision impaired or blind also experience significant delays in development, particularly in locomotor domains. The purpose of this case study was to explore BWSTT, which has been shown in the literature to serve as a possible catalyst for independent mobility achievement and improved participation and quality of life for children with CP, for a 28-month-old, non-ambulatory child with CP and severe vision impairment.
