      LiteGait + Bioness system to perform gait training Interventions provided while 72yo w/multiple history of CVA with newly diagnosed CVA leading to R hemiparesis. Jenny Chang brings the synergy of the LiteGait and Functional Electrical Stimulation to fire up the muscles of a 72 year old female patient with a history of CVA and a recent diagnosis of Right hemiparesis. The patient has impaired balance and a gait that presents with absent dorsiflexion resulting in a right foot drop and toe drag, as well as right knee hyperextension. Jenny’s treatment plan utilizes the LiteGait to provide safety and stability for the patient during treadmill training while the electrical stimulation helps with motor recruitment and improves patient motivation. Together, the paired treatment methods allow for more intense interventions for at risk patients. After treatment, the patient’s BERG scores improve from 12 to 22, and she is able to keep her standing balance without assistance.
