Benefits of Therapy over Home-Care for BLE spasticity and balance Heather Barksdale illustrates the limits of homecare in her discussion on working with a 58 year old male patient who had a C5/C6 fusion after an MVA, and now complained of BLE spasticity, LE weakness, and a recently worsening balance. The patient underwent a homecare program but reported no benefit and then came in for LiteGait therapy. Heather uses bodyweight supported treadmill training on the LiteGait to assist the patient in carrying out ambulation and balance activities. The presenter concludes that one week of physical therapy with the LiteGait was more effective than 2 months of home healthcare
