PEDS Through the Online LiteGait Therapy Clinical Foundation and Demonstration inservice, you can find out more about the features and benefits of the LiteGait device and LiteGait Therapy. You can also learn how the LiteGait will specifically benefit your facility and clients. This inservice is an introduction to the LiteGait for future planning or consideration. One of the most debilitating aspects of many neurological and musculoskeletal disorders is loss of the ability to ambulate. Much of therapeutic practice involves facilitation of the recovery of ambulation and its components, namely posture, balance, weight-bearing, endurance and coordination of lower limb movement. Every year more evidence emerges showing the benefits of using supported treadmill training for neurological disorders as well as orthopedic conditions. LiteGait Therapy (LGT) is a technique that has been shown to be very effective in facilitating the recovery process. This presentation will summarize LGT concepts and the rationale for the clinical applications. A discussion of clinical protocols and typical progression of treatment that have emerged based on published studies will also be presented. Participants will: Develop an understanding of LiteGait Therapy (LGT) concepts, including an overview of the research and clinical background leading to the concepts. Be introduced to the LG environment including techniques & protocols for various patient populations, and alternative uses. Be able to identify appropriate patient populations for LG: adult and pediatric Observe a demonstration of a patient session in the LGT environment.
