Lesley Smith holds a BA in Business Studies from Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. She graduated with an MSPT from Boston University in 1998 and earned her doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professionals MGH IHP in 2008. Dr. Smith has worked for over eighteen years at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Cape Cod (SCC) in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Her clinical expertise is with the adult neuro population but she also treats cardiopulmonary, orthopaedic, and amputee patients on a regular basis. Dr. Smith was instrumental in the procurement of a BWSTT device for SCC several years ago and conducts regular inservices on its scientific rationale and clinical application. She also has experience in the outpatient, homecare, and SNF settings and is a Clinical Instructor with MGH IHP's DPT program. Dr. Smith is currently conducting educational training sessions on gait and balance on behalf of Mobility Research
