Harness Application - Instructional Videos

The key to the best use of the LiteGait is applying the harness correctly. The harness can be applied in standing, in supine for a client who cannot stand or stands with poor posture, or modified standing for the client who can stand for a short period of time.

You can find application instructions in the following links:

  • harness
  • crawling harness
  • crawling connectors

For patients who can not stand long enough to apply the harness in an upright position, the LiteGait harness should be donned in supine in the bed just prior to transfer to wheelchair or on the mat while doing mat exercises

Maximize your clients' comfort in LiteGait by following this specific set of harness application instructions. Good & Tight - top of the hip and lower abdomen is securely grabbed by the harness wrap preventing excessive hip flexion during walking.

For clients who can not stand for long periods of time consider using a modified harness application approach.

Dont forget about the groin piece strap and remove all slack. The groin piece anchors the harness, preventing it from riding up without interfering with limb movement.

Place low and tight, using the two-handed strap tightening technique.

If a client has a balance issue and needs to hold on, it might be easier to apply the harness backwards

Iif your client is tired from working hard during LiteGait Therapy, let them sit. Even seated, the harness can be removed easily!

It is important to give postural support to help a patient stand upright

Leg Straps are an option when a patient cannot tolerate contact from the groin piece
