You Will Never Know Unless You Ask

"It’s the stuff that dreams are made of…

Have you ever NOT asked and still managed to have the very thing you desire fall into your lap? How many great careers, promotions or relationships have been borne out of NOT asking? Almost none. We usually need to ask those hard questions and experience the awkward silence of waiting. We’ve all heard the old expression from our moms, coworkers, or spouses when we need some encouragement to take a step toward the unknown – “you will never know unless you ask.”

Today we want to share a story from a clinician at Roper Rehabilitation Hospital in Charleston, SC, that may help inspire you to simply ask for something that you may need!

In need of a new treadmill to accompany their LiteGait device, the DPT from this facility touched base with a product advisor here at Mobility Research to gather information needed to help support the request she wanted to make. She sent the inquiry to her administrators the same day, discussing how the LiteGait system helps their team teach folks how to walk again in a safe, harnessed system, and that this device was used heavily by the SCI team. With their original treadmill being inoperable for the last months, the full LiteGait environment could not be utilized without

Determined

"but to her surprise, the facility management was able to approve and allocate funding within just hours! ."

A challenging year

Considering what a year 2020 has been, this determined DPT knew it would be a longshot to secure the funds quickly for this purchase, but to her surprise, the facility management was able to approve and allocate funding within just hours! Imagine that! With funding secured and the LiteGait team finalizing the process to get the treadmill shipped to this facility they are now back on track to offer the full benefits of the LiteGait environment for years to come.

While it has been a challenging year with many new obstacles to overcome, there is always something good to be had, and this story goes to show you that will never know, until you ask. We hope to continue to help and share in the recovery of their patients at Roper Rehabilitation Hospital."
