Smart Controller Status LED Explained

Newer adult LiteGaits (2021) are equipped with the Smart Controller that indicates the status of the unit by displaying a color coded LED.

Troubleshooting & Diagnosis

The LiteGait shows a red or yellow light

    • A red light usually indicates an issue with the power system

    • A red light can also indicate that the Product Key or Product Expiration Date status has reset to Not set, Invalid, or Disabled.
    • A yellow light usually indicates a battery issue:
      • flashing for a low battery level
      • solid for a low battery health

Check the status of the LiteGait

    • Your BiSym and or GaitSens tablets have a LiteGait Service App installed on them. You can run this app to check for any internal errors.
      1. Ensure LiteGait is turned on – to confirm use the handset to move the actuator up or down.
      2. Ensure the battery has been removed from any SECOND LiteGait in the area (if applicable)
      3. While close to LiteGait, select the LiteGait Service application from the BiSym or GaitSens' tablet’s application tab.

3. Solid Red Light - Power or motor issues

    • Usually, a solid red light indicates power or motor issues.

    • When using the LiteGait Service app, the "Error" field will normally display an error message such as Motor 1 or 2 when the red light is lit. If you receive a Motor 1 or 2 error, please view the knowledge base for troubleshooting motor issues at this TBDLINK. If no error is displayed, contact Mobility Research for assistance.

4. Yellow Lights

    • A flashing yellow light usually indicates a low battery level, while a solid yellow light usually indicates low battery health.

    • For a flashing yellow light, check the "Battery Level" field. If the level is below 20%, the battery will likely need to be charged. If the battery level is more than 20% but the flashing yellow light still persists, contact Mobility Research for assistance.
    • For a solid yellow light, in the LiteGait Service app, if the number in the Battery Health field is over 200, the battery may need to be replaced.  You can replace your battery by following the instructions at this LINK.
