LiteGait Equipment Life Expectancy and Maintenance
The LiteGait has been designed to be durable and requires minimal maintenance. The frame is constructed from high strength steel, and has been painted with a special powder coat to resist rust and scratches.
We recommend your LiteGait be replaced after 12 years, however many facilities still use LiteGait devices that are over 20 years old. Routine maintenance and proactive replacement or upgrades of high-wear parts and accessories is critical to ensure your LiteGait remains safe and fully functional over an extended lifespan.

- Use a facility approved non-bleach cleaning solution.
-
Battery
-
-
With proper use and charge, the LiteGait battery has a lifespan of 24-30 months, or 2-3 years.
- Batteries should be charged for 6–8 hours at least once per week, regardless of use. For heavy LiteGait usage, more frequent charging may be required.
-

-
-
Harnesses, Groin Pieces, & Overhead Straps should be replaced after 5-7 years of service.
- For maintenance frequency, follow your facility’s infection control guidelines.
- Harnesses and Groin pieces can be washed in hot water up to 176F with a cleaning solution that is approved by the facility’s infection control guidelines.
- Harnesses should be dried with low or no heat tumble dry.

-
-
Casters should be replaced after 10 years of service.

- The BiSym tablet has a 90 day full replacement warranty from Mobility Research.
- Mobility Research certifies proprietary software installed on Android tablets will function as expected for up to 18 months. After 18 months, a new tablet may be required.

Retrofit and upgrade options are available for LiteGait units with obsolete components. Mobility Research strives to ensure new enhancements are retrofittable to existing LiteGaits - if you see something new ask if your LiteGait can be upgraded.
