GKMINI Electrical Troubleshooting
Some users report that the handheld remote control on their GK Mini units does not power on. This is caused either by an internal loose wire or a bad handset.
Step-by-step troubleshooting:
- Confirm power to the unit.
- Look for LED lights inside the electronics tray and listen for a low buzzing sound coming from the treadmill electronics. If there are a visible LED and sound, proceed to Step #2.
- If you do not see an illuminated LED and/or hear a sound, check that the incoming power cord is securely attached and plugged into an active dedicated 15-amp circuit. Also check that the fuse is securely mounted in the fuse holder and not blown.

- If neither resolves the issue, please contact Mobility Research for assistance.
- Check hand control wiring
- Remove the eight screws from the electronics tray cover:

- With the cover removed, check the remote’s wiring for loose connections - the highlighted connectors in the picture below should be assessed.

- Ensure that each plug is securely plugged in and attached.
- Remove the eight screws from the electronics tray cover:
- Look for green LED on control power supply
- If all wiring is properly connected, verify that the hand control power supply is receiving power. A green LED should be illuminated.

- If all wiring is properly connected, verify that the hand control power supply is receiving power. A green LED should be illuminated.
- Check the LEDs on the drive
- If the LEDs on the drive are either flashing or solid red, or any other series of flashes that are not green, take a short 15 second video of the LEDs flashing and send them to Mobility Research. The flashing sequence helps provide an error code that can help with troubleshooting.
- Check safety switch sensor
- Check the safety switch sensor to ensure it is in the correct position - a misplaced sensor will make it difficult to activate with the magnet. The side panel on the magnet side attachment point will need to be removed to access the sensor.

- The sensor should be located directly under the magnet attachment point (see image below). Place the magnet over the sensor to test.

- If none of these steps resolve the issue and the remote still does not power on, either the remote, the power supply, or the safety switch sensor will likely need to be replaced.
