Does insurance cover these devices?

It's not common, but we have seen success in the past.

Unfortunately, our company does not work directly with insurance companies to process claims. This is because most insurance companies have preferred durable medical equipment (DME) companies that process insurance claims, such as NuMotion and National Seating and Mobility. The preferred vendor will then contact our company for a formal quote for the LiteGait 4 Home device to begin the approval process with the insurance.

A letter of medical necessity is often needed from a physical therapist and treating physician to explain how the device will be used in the home, the long-term benefits of LiteGait use, and how this therapeutic intervention may improve the patient’s daily life, functionality, and safety in the house.

HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Codes) is a standardized code collection that represents medical procedures, supplies, products, and services. Here are codes that have been successful for patients submitting the LiteGait for insurance approval:

*E8001 -- Gait trainer, pediatric size, upright support, includes all accessories and components

*E0636 -- Multi-positional patient support system, with integrated lift, patient accessible controls

*E1399 -- Durable Medical Equipment, miscellaneous

*Please Note that each person's insurance will vary, and it would be best for the patient or family to check with their insurance carrier to see if these codes are valid or if other codes exist.

Additionally, CPT codes often associated with LiteGait use include:

*97110-Therapeutic Exercise

*97112-Neuromuscular Re-Education

*97116-Gait Training

*97530-Therapeutic Activities
